Lower Secondary
Cambridge Lower Secondary is typically for learners aged 11 to 14 years. It helps you prepare students for the next step of their education, providing a broad and balanced education as they progress through the Cambridge Pathway in an age-appropriate way, helping them to thrive throughout their schooling, work and life. With ten subjects to choose from, including English, mathematics and science, you’ll find plenty of opportunities to develop creativity, expression and wellbeing in a variety of ways. The curriculum is flexible, so which can be offered with any combination of the subjects available and adapt the content to suit our context, culture and ethos. Many of Cambridge International Schools offer Cambridge Lower Secondary alongside their national curriculum, or as part of a bilingual programme.
Ordinary Level
Cambridge Ordinary Level is an internationally recognized qualification equivalent to Cambridge IGCSE and UK GCSE. Cambridge Ordinary Level provides learners with excellent preparation for academic progression to Cambridge Advanced as well as other progression routes. It is sensitive to the needs of different countries and for learners whose first language may not be English. This is acknowledged during the assessment process. The Cambridge Ordinary Level curriculum emphasizes broad and balanced study across a wide range of subjects. It develops learners’ skills in creative thinking, enquiry and problem solving and is structured so they build practical skills and theoretical knowledge
